i am so grateful that i had the foresight to capture my own gorgeous rescued wild-born kitten miffy (above) before she became terminally ill and had to be put to sleep at just one year of age. 🙁 We still miss her but having such a beautiful photo is a great comfort – and seeing her little pink tongue always poking out brings back lots of fun memories!

Your beloved pets are with you for such a short time – don’t miss your chance to remember them for ever with beautiful and heartwarming portraits from available light ltd. Contact us today to arrange your booking!

bothering the cat… 22 jan ’10

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

sometimes my cats don’t much care for a big camera being stuck in their personal space (which is actually quite extensive when they are trying to sleep) but this time he played along, so i thought i’d share some pics.

from this perspective, looking into a cat’s eyes, you really get an idea of how mice and unwary birds feel just before their luck runs out!

sophie & sam… 15 mar ’09

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

sunday afternoon i visited sophie & sam at their lovely home and coaxed them (with MANY dog chocs, salmon and kebabs!) to remain in one spot long enough to have their photos taken. it seemed that their favourite thing to do was immediately approach the camera to get a pat, so their owners’ help was required throughout.

golden sophie was most obliging and posed in her favourite spot (after a suitable amount of chocs had been offered) without any shyness, even allowing some close-ups to be taken later on. poor sam, on the other hand, had a bad experience that morning: some horrible passer-by had thrown a stone at him over the hedge, and frightened him into the bedroom closet, so he wasn’t sure about my camera; and every time i lifted it up he looked worried and ran away. however we eventually convinced him to ignore the long lens for brief periods and got some nice portraits of him too.

here’s the top 20…
